Still the same

I think I can just copy & paste my doctor's appointment update from last week to this week.  Although he had me slightly excited when he asked me (right before checking me) "So are you ready to have this baby this week?"

Um, yes please ; )

He asked how the contractions were and I told him, still having plenty and they are still painful.  I had moved my Procardia to every 4 hours which is as frequently as it can be taken.  He asked "Do you think we're gonna make it to the end of the month?"  I said "Honestly?  No...."  He agreed with me!  He then checked me and said I was "about the same".  Boo.  So good thing I guess, that this week, I didn't even bring my suitcase along (I had in previous weeks, just in case!)

Other than all that, baby sounded good and is moving around like a wild child.  My doctor even commented "This kid is going CA-RAZY!"

We then ended the appointment with me basically begging to go get a pedicure, which he allowed ; )  You can bet I didn't waste any time getting that done!  Oh, and he also said "Now you just need to make it through Friday".  I asked why Friday?   He said "Because I have tickets to the Reds game and I have really good seats!"  I told him I'm putting HIM on bedrest!  "No more outings for you!  AND I want your cell number, your home number, and your pager!"  He, as usual, just laughed at me.

Me (35w5d) & Mo (15 1/2 months)  just before leaving for my OB appointment.  Just in case I got admitted, I wanted "one last pic" of just the two of us.  Will have to try again next week!
My sis & nephew are in town and we are finding ways to stay entertained.  Late last night, my sister and I got this big idea to go see The Hunger Games at 10:00 at night.  I was SO excited to go out - especially  at night!  And since I just recently finished books 1& 2, I have been dying to see it.  I loved it!  I'm pretty sure we are the last people in the country to see it, but that's OK.
Oh Katniss Everdeen....you rock

And just to remind myself down the road....I was in a funk this morning (probably due to very little sleep last night).  The Hubs had left his pager at home so I was on pager babysitting duty for 1/2 the day -- and let me tell ya, he gets a lot of pages!  So back to my nephew..he asks me "What are you thinking about right now Tammy?"

I didn't want to spew all my negativity at him.  So I just said "Oh, not much...what are you thinking about?"

And he said "That I can't wait to see your new baby because you sure make beautiful babies!"

Awww....I melted.  And Funk = gone.  Love that kid.

Tonight he told me I should eat my ice cream slowly and let it warm up in my mouth before swallowing it, taking a break between bites so the cold ice cream wouldn't "splash the baby in the head", BAH HA HAHA HA!!

So what else have I been up to?  Obsessed with Shutterfly and their easy album creation software.  I threw together an album with the pics from Morgan's 1st birthday party and it arrived today.  IN LOVE is all I can say!

This happened:
Sadz
My new Mommymobile hit 1,000 miles.  And I haven't even been driving it!  Something tells me the Hubs is getting a leeeeeeetle too comfortable driving it!

And the nursery is pretty much done!  It has become my favorite room in the house because it is so clean and peaceful ; )  I have something else to hang up and then I plan to snap a few pics.  I should add a disclaimer:  It's pretty plain and not a lot of personalization happening since we don't know baby's gender or name yet.

Maybe I'll even get a 36 weeks post up tomorrow.  Every week I make it, I can't believe I've made it this far and am SO grateful!!  I just really really really wanna meet this sweet baby inside!

False Alarm

Last night, I thought my water broke, but I just wasn't sure.  I keep saying, I never went into labor when pregnant with Morgan, so this is allll new territory for me.  In addition, labor (& all that goes along with it!) is usually different & sometimes faster with 2nd babies.

Anyway, back to the water breaking...I had been sitting at the counter talking with my Mother-In-Law.  When I got up to go use the restroom, something had leaked through my shorts.  A significant enough amount of fluid that I needed to change.  {Sorry for the TMI!}  I urinated after that, so it definitely wasn't urine.  I called my OB, who instructed me to dry myself off, put a pad on, and see if in an hour there was anything on the pad.  So I did - and there was.  I was told to go to L&D to get checked.

After waiting 3 hours (the resident who would be checking me had just started a c-section), I was finally checked.  We were told that it was not amniotic fluid and I was sent home.  I was relieved because I am 35.5 weeks and my doctor was STILL out of town, so the covering doc would've had to do it.

I felt pretty dumb, but I know I'm better safe than sorry.  I see my doctor again tomorrow, so we will see if I progressed any since last week.

In other news, my sister and nephew arrived late last night.  I am so glad they are here!  I wish I could do the fun, typical summer stuff with them (zoo, museum, pool, etc.), but am grateful if they can get Morgan out of the house a bit.

Per my request, my sister brought me these!

Getting pushed by cousin Sophie

And my 8-year old nephew is never lacking for the hilarious things he says:

Jacob:  Tammy, do you have a boyfriend?
Me: Um, no.
Jacob:  Why not?
Me:  I have a husband.  He frowns on me having any boyfriends -  ha ha!!!

He walked in on me changing my shirt and yelled out "WHOAH!! THAT IS ONE PREGNANT BELLY!!!"

You're tellin' me, kid!

High Five for Friday

I've been slacking on blogging since I'm on bedrest (have I mentioned that a few hundred times? lol!) and there just isn't a whole lot going on these days.

But here goes:

Linking up with Lauren @ From My Grey Desk.....Things I am really happy about this week:

1.  MOMS Club meals:  The club I joined had a gal drop off THREE meals this week - One of them cooked and 2 frozen, for later or whenever we want to use them.  We ate the Chicken Provance and I can honestly say it was probably the BEST chicken dish I've ever eaten!!  Seriously.  Recipe to come.

I was feeling guilty because I have barely attended any events and had not contributed any meals when the sign-up emails came out.  But now I know...in the future, the best way to pay it forward is to make a meal whenever I can because it is SO needed and appreciated!!

2.  My In-Laws.  They're still totally taking care of me & Morgan every day from early in the morning when Hubs goes to work til he gets home.  Little Miss has a play buddy from the minute she wakes up until the minute she goes to bed and she's just SO darn happy!  I worry what will happen to her when new baby comes and all these people disappear.  When she no longer has 100% attention from anyone, but just a distracted mommy with a newborn to contend with.  We'll get through it, but for now, this situation couldn't be going any better!

3.  We are getting our back porch/sunroom tiled next week.  We wavered on it and decided it was important to do this year so we could spend more time out there as a family.  I am so excited for this!  Do I dare press my luck for new patio furniture?  lol ; )

4.  My Sister and Nephew are coming to visit next week.  I've forewarned her she's likely going to be stuck with pregnant, disabled, boring ol' me instead of a cute cuddly newborn like she'd hoped.  But she's cool with it.  I wonder if she knows how much I plan to put her to work?  Hee hee ; )  She is so good with kids though and I know she'll take excellent care of Morgan.

5.  My MIL is coming over this weekend to finish putting the nursery together/organize things/clean out the clutter.  Just when I was getting productive again, this pre-term labor business started and it all came to a screeching halt.  Who knows, maybe I'll even have some pics next week?  I would like to finish it, and by that, I mean add some accent colors and personalized items I have picked out.  But we're just waiting on one small wiggly little detail....the baby!

So there you have it, what are you High Fiving about this week?

Here are a few more scenes from our ever-exciting life at home lately:
Reading to her stuffed animals.  She follows the words left to right with her finger and babbles away, turning the pages.  It's so cute when she does this!

"Can I help you Mommy?  I was reading, thank you very much!"

Rolling around getting tickled by Daddy after work.  When he gets home now, she goes just as crazy as the dog, yelling out "Da-Da!! Da-Da!!" over and over.  Adorbz.

Blowing through Book #2 (Catching Fire), just me and the belly.

OH, and PS:   I have a hair appointment on Saturday.  Now I don't see much harm in riding 10 minutes to the salon and sitting for 2 hours versus sitting at home.  And it is totally necessary before baby comes because we all know how hard it will be to break away those first few weeks....and I can't have these trailer roots when I meet my baby for the first time ; )

PPS:  The Hubs hinted that he may be game for sneaking me out to a movie this weekend.  We are such rebels!

PPPS:  If I weren't so afraid that my uterus might rupture, I have to confess it has crossed my mind to not take my pills and start doing lunges, squats and running the stairs.  BAD PATIENT/MOMMY! Luckily, all those have consequences of pain and I don't tolerate pain well, so I guess I will continue to follow doctor's orders, lol!  I realize I am being totally selfish here, but I am completely physically uncomfortable.  There is no getting myself comfortable either at this point, no matter what positioning I try.  If someone told me I only had to do this for x number of days, fine, I can handle that.  But it's the unknown that's driving me batty.  And the possibility of 28 more days?  Makes me want to cry.

35 Weeks & Dr. Appt.

Time seems to be creeping by ever so slowly...  yet I can't believe I'm 35 weeks!  A HUGE milestone indeed!

My doctor's appointment on Wednesday this week was pretty much a repeat of the week before in that there had been no change in dilitation.  I went into it with a much better frame of mind, expecting that, this time.  Last week I pretty much felt defeated.  The doc did say baby had dropped a little more and something about I probably feel like I have a bowling ball about to drop out.  Why yes, yes I do.

I pressed him for some parameters and deal-making this time ; )

If I dilate one more cm, he will admit me to stop labor if I'm still earlier than term (37 weeks).  If I dilate 2cm, he will admit me and we will deliver because there's no stopping labor then.  He is keeping me on bedrest for TWO MORE WEEKS.  This was the hardest to accept.  I was thinking in my head "Um yah, If I make it that long!".  Once I hit 37 weeks, he said he'll take me off bedrest and let whatever happens, happen.

He also said I couldn't have the baby this weekend, because he is taking his family out of town to a big rollercoaster amusement park, lol.  I objected and first pointed out that A) I did NOT approve this leaving town business and B) I gave him Memorial Day Weekend off and didn't bother him once!

So I told him I'd make a deal with him:  If he promised NOT to Mag me after Friday (tomorrow, when I am officially 35 weeks), I would promise to will this child to stay inside all weekend so he could be with his family.  Well, the jokes on me, because he has two guys covering for him while he's away.  And in his words?  "They have no idea yet".  Saweeeeet for me.  (Sense my sarcasm??)  So there's a possibility that I will be sliced open like a rotisserie hog by a complete stranger should baby come this weekend.  Awesome.

I did not gain any weight again, which is fine by me.  My belly is growing by the minute, so all that food I'm eating is going SOMEWHERE!  My BP was also high again so we are increasing my BP meds once again.

Oh, and for the first time in 2 pregnancies, when I went to give my urine sample?  I just sat down and peed, lost in thought.  Totally forgot to use the cup.  Ooops!  I'm sure it happens all the time, but I still felt dumb.

My dear husband brought home a refill on my Procardia prescription tonight:  A 30-day supply.  I may or may not have freaked and screamed "I WILL NOT BE PREGNANT THAT LONG!!!!!!"

I've not had an ultrasound since around the 20-week mark, so NO idea how baby is measuring.  But according to Babycenter.com, he/she is around 5 1/4 pounds and 18 inches at this point.  The past few nights he or she has been moving SO MUCH all night long.  Like, spastic, non-stop.  I was getting worried that something might be wrong....what baby wiggles around that much?  Is there even a such thing as too much movement?  It gets so uncomfortable that I don't get much sleep.  It seems I just get settled in to a comfortable enough position and then the Tae Kwon Do starts up.

Sure, just when I get Morgan sleeping through the night, this baby is going to be a night owl ; )  Ah well...I'll take that any day over bedrest!  I just can't wait to meet him or her!!!!!
