Wednesday thoughts

Easter is upon us and I realized I better get documenting some things up in here:

1.  Easter Pic Sneak Peeks turned out SO CUTE, even if the kids weren't as into it as I'd hoped:

2.  Zantac is my new BFF.  First it was neverending nausea.  Now it's been upgraded to "sometimes-ending", with a side of always-ravenous hunger, and heartburn.  For the record, I was eating the nastiest, unhealthiest stuff and it's all I wanted.  I could live on stinky cheese & crackers and McDonald's french fries.  And fruity sparkling beverages.  So. Disgusting.

The good news is, the unhealthy cravings are finally starting to subside and I can look at something that is not fried or pure salt now.  Baby steps.
Back on the healthy eating train with my Ezekiel toast, Coconut Almond Butter, Turkey sausage and strawberries.  Except I must not have been able to live ANOTHER SECOND without a bite of food in my mouth.  See always-ravenous hunger above.

This pregnancy, so far symptom-wise, reminds me a lot of when I was pregnant with Morgan.  I was working and I think I ate at Wendy's more times than I cared to admit.  Gross.

3.  Play dates & gorgeous weather have been keeping us busy:

Which leads to 2 wiped out toddlers:
Clearly this was last week, before the snow (???) we just got.

4.  Friends
Something that I've definitely let slip to the backburner since having kids.  It happens.  And the bestest friends understand.  My friend Staci came to town this past weekend and it was SO nice to have a couple of kid-free dinners out to catch up!!  We also snuck out in the Hubs' car for an ice cream run.  Hey, I'm pregnant and she needed to experience Graeter's.
Laverne & Shirley shenanigans!

We found the recipient for this year's Creepiest Easter Bunny award at Kroger!  It was all yellow & dingy...the other ear is flopped behind its head.  I think it's time to shell out the money for a new costume Kroger.
5.  School is almost done.  I still stare at my calendar in disbelief that we're done in like 2 weeks??  But I'm ready for summer break.  Had a conference call today about my fall plans and it looks like my very pregnant self will be waddling around doing head-to-toe assessments and H&Ps on peeps in the community.  Awesomesauce.

And seriously, WHO is this big, this early?????  Almost 11 weeks.  Not 20.  Just for the record.

Our Weekend & Looking Forward

I'm choosing to look forward because of lots o'fun things coming up.  And because both kids were sick (of the middle of the night vomiting kind) over the last few days.  I realized Joey's never vomited (???) and Morgan only has once in her 3 years of life.  I think.  Anyway, to be awakened by a scared child covered in emesis, plus their jams, plus their crib/toddler bed, plus their bedding....was....gross.  There's just no better word.

This little bug they had was weird; fast, and predictable.  They each vomited 3 times from 1am-5am.  It skipped a night before the next child got it.  So really, it was a semi-reasonable little virus.

This is just too cute though not to mention:  In the midst of it all, Morgan was all shook up.  She kept saying "I'm sorry Mommy, I puked!!" and I reassured her that it was OK, Mommy was gonna take good care of her and get her cleaned up, don't feel bad, etc.  She asked if I would wash her blankies.  I told her of course and she kept saying "OK, Fank You Mommy.  Fank you so much."

Thanks to my pregnant hormones and my heightened sense of smell, I could barely hold it together myself while rinsing said vom off of said blankies.  Ugh.

Of course, in the middle of sickies, I had already prepaid my deposit for Easter pictures.  While the husband was working a call weekend.  Because doing this stuff alone is way more fun.  Except the opposite.  Let's just say it was cold and the kids were not even a leeeetle bit interested despite all my creative bribing tactics (Chick Fil A!  Fruit Snacks! Jelly Beans! or Jebby Beans as Joey calls them).  Did I mention the photographer even had little baby ducklings and big fuzzy bunny rabbits?  The kids still weren't having it.

Joey is getting to be quite the little personality.  He's into establishing boundaries right now.  He let us know this when the photographer was trying to re-position him for the photo and he yelled at her "No.  STOP THAT."  I also realized this weekend he doesn't like to share his food, but will happily snatch anyone else's food if left unattended.

Luckily before we left the house, I snapped a few pics which I'm sure are the only proof of the two of them in the same picture.
From my IG, but seriously.  So. Freaking. Cute.
Our friends Julie and her sweet little nuggets Johnny & Kristina came to see us this weekend.  We had plans to meet them at the zoo and the Aquarium, but due to sickies/extended naps we didn't make it.  We were able to meet them on Friday night at Chuck E. Cheese (our first time!) and I just have to say:  I'm still shocked they don't serve alcohol there.
Riding the pony, her favorite thing to do.

Watching Johnny drive the train.

On Saturday afternoon they came out to our house and the grownups enjoyed a nice meal and the kids ran around outside until we thought they might fall over.  It was fantastic.

So, we were looking forward, right?  Right!

One of my best and beloved comes to visit this week!  My sweet friend Staci from Minnesota is flying in for a nursing conference (we went to nursing school together) and going to spend the weekend with my little family!  Can't wait to see her and catch up!  My husband has graciously agreed to watch the kids the night she gets in so I can pick her up from the airport and she and I can enjoy a dinner out.
Taken at the rehearsal dinner before our wedding 4 years ago!
I'm realizing April is going to be busy....with Easter coming, and then we leave for Vegas.  Yay!  Can't. Wait.

And Game of Thrones has returned.  Are you hooked?  We are, real bad.

4 weeks left of my school semester.  All I can say is thank goodness.  This class has been a doozy.  I haven't exactly informed my program yet of my fall plans.  Which include no school and birthing a child.

What I'm Loving

Wow, thanks everyone for your well wishes and words of Congratulations on our expecting Baby #3!

I can't wait to snuggle this little newborn, I'm already wondering nonstop if he or she will look like Morgan or Joey?  Both?  Neither?  We are not finding out the gender either.  It was such an incredible surprise the last two times, why change a good thing?

Since I have a looooong ways to go til Baby arrives, I'm trying to keep my mind occupied.  My body has been taken over (and that's another whole blog post, entirely.  Seriously, WHO looks 6 months pregnant at 9 weeks?  This girl.)

So here's what I'm loving lately:

These shoes for Spring:

Via Nordstrom
THE perfect comfortable, not-too-high wedge.  Just what an expectant mama needs.

Also Loving Date Nights:
Went to the Cincinnati Ballet for my first time and LOVED EVERY SECOND of it!!!
And Day Dates:
Went to a Sweets Shop for coffee and treats and to discuss the purchase of a new front door.  Aren't we exciting??

Crashing a Medical Dinner at Boca last week and secretly telling the person in charge it was the Hubs' birthday, so they surprised him with a birthday Creme Brulee, complete with candle and a room full of doctors singing to him. #Gotchya
 Easter egg colored nails

A Springy blouse from H&M last season that hides my already popped looking 6 months' along baby belly.
Snuggles with this girl on a lazy Sunday.
I've been feeling just plain rotten.  No energy, could sleep for 24 hours (if 2 little people would let me!) and constantly nauseous or ravenous with no in between.  Already grown out of my regular pants, uggh.  Hoping the 2nd trimester gets a little easier!  See, I had to come out with my big news so I could whine on my blog ;-)

Have a fabulous weekend friends!  We have some friends in town, the Hubs is working all weekend and I'm going to brave Easter photos with the kids for the very first time (alone, I might add, eeeek).  Wish me luck!  Oh, and there will definitely be chocolate chip cookies baked, I can feel it.

02 April 2014

It started with Dish Soap

I bought new dish soap shortly after we moved into our new house - Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Lavender, to be exact.  I thought "If the bottle is going to sit on the counter top - which I don't really want it to, but I'm too lazy to put it away, then it might as well be cuter than the bottle of Dawn."

And immediately the smell made me gag.  It had this metallic undertone to it.  Uggh.  It had to go.

Annnd then I was having dizzy spells every evening.  I was checking my blood pressure and it was too low, so I cut my BP meds out for a while.

And then I was also having insomnia every night, despite running like crazy all day.  A few nights of being up til 3:00am before my body would even consider sleep had me feeling like a zombie.

And then it hit me:  I bet I'm pregnant.

Baby #3 due at the end of October or beginning of Novemer (I'm right on the edge, Halloween baby?)!  Provided my body and baby cooperate, of course.

Saw my OB last week and everything looks great, strong heart beat at 152 and there is ONLY ONE baby in there.  I made the U/S tech triple check and asked "Now you're sure one's not sitting on the other?"  Guess I need another scapegoat for my 6 pound weight gain in 2 weeks.  Yikes. #slowyourroll

We are thrilled (OK and I'm a leeeettle scared of 3 kids 3 and under...but millions of women before me have survived and lived to tell the story, right? Right.)  And fighting the practical need for a minivan every.step.of.the.way.

I'm feeling crummy and my precious heart toddler is running around telling everyone "My mommy has a baby in her tummy!"  God love her ;-)
