WILW

What I'm Loving Wednesday:

  • Morgan is on the mend, but still fighting this nasty cold.  A little Pediatrician-approved baby dose of Benadryl and she slept through the night last night (first time in 10 nights if anyone's counting).  Hallelujah.  Although, of course, I worried all night that I'd over-sedated her and went to check on her THREE times.  It's true, peeps:  Once you become a mother you never sleep well again.
  • In the meantime, I'm wiping noses like a boss.
  • Dance Parties.  In the Kitchen.  Every evening at dinner-makin' time.  Our latest faves are "Good Time" by Owl City & Carly Rae Jepson.  Morgan requests that song all the time by singing the "Oh Oh Oh Ohoh" part.  It's totally cute.  We also love "Trouble" by T. Swizzle and "It's Time" by Imagine Dragons.  Oh the fun we have dancing!  Joey loves watching his crazy Mama & sister.
  • Morgan destroying my pantry.  She's so curious and LOOOVES spending time "rearranging" all my neatly stacked goods.  Stinker.

This morning, they were up, dressed and ready to go to Teeter Tots!
  • The two of them starting to interact more.  Joey lights up whenever she is in his eyesight, but she is just starting to allow him near her while she plays.  I catch myself wondering what this picture will look like 1 year from now....5 years from now....15 years from now.  I hope they are always close to each other.
  • And if they fight too much growing up?  Then this WILL happen:
  • HaHAHA!  This makes me laugh every time!  Gotta love Pinterest (VIA)
  • Teeter Tots.  Even if Morgan's still not loving it yet, it gets us out of the house and some social time with other kids and parents.  I know my girl just takes her own sweet time to warm up to new situations.
  • Morgan is LOVING school now.  When we get there, she always says "Hi Guys!" to her teachers and classmates.  And then it's "Bye Mama!"
  • I made two new recipes that turned out AWESOME.  That doesn't always happen for me.  One was Baked Chicken Parmesan from Skinnytaste.com (thanks Rachael for the recipe!) and the other was for Salmon Patties with spicy Mayo that I found on Pinterest.  And I didn't save or pin the salmon patties recipe.  Smart, huh?  The Hubs thought I bought them, they were that good!

  • I'm THISCLOSE to pulling the trigger on a Double BOB stroller that's on crazysale right now.  Thanks a lot Mica ; )  You know, for all the jogging I won't be doing.  No, but really, it's very hilly/bumpy in our neighborhood and I think a jogger with bigger air filled tires would handle the sidewalks and roads much nicer.  For the children!!!
  • I'm trying to think of ways to pass these dreary, cold winter days.  All that comes to mind is browsing online at all the spring fashions.  I want pastel everything!  But I think I'm just a wee bit too old to pull of floral denim skinny jeans...

Get Happy

Today is Day #2 of 12 that the Hubs is working.  And it aint starting out pretty my friends.  Before 10:30 last night, both Morgan and Joey woke up crying.  I had a hunch it was going to be a rough night so I forced myself to bed after only 1 episode of American Horror Story a little after 10:30.

The rest of the night played out like this:
10:40:  I'm in bed, praying for a power nap and a peaceful night.  Ha.  HA HA HA.
12:00:  Joey's awake, crying.  (I change his dipe, offer milk, rock him back to sleep)
12:30:  Joey's awake, crying.  (I check his dipe and rock him back to sleep)
1:00: Joey's awake, crying. (Check, check, rock)
2:00: Joey's awake, crying.  (Another bottle & dipe change, just to be safe, rock, sleep)
2:15: I crawl back in bed.
2:30:  Morgan wakes, SCREAMING.  (I rock her back to sleep, lay her in crib, and she screams)
3:30:  Morgan wakes, SCREAMING.  (I offer her Ibuprofen & a drink of water --ears? teeth? -- and rock some more)
4:30: Morgan wakes, SCREAMING  (I rock her some more)
5:00:  Still screaming  (I go up and tell her to go to sleep)
5:30:  Quiet.  At last.
6:00:  Hubs' alarm goes off.  *%@!

I was grumpy this morning.  To put it mildly.  And then you have my husband, who I've mentioned, can sleep through nuclear war.  "Were the kids up a lot last night?"

I know I'm not the only parent who goes through this.  It's not like my kids are especially sick.  They just have colds.  (Again, grrr)  I took them to the Pediatrician to rule out yet another ear infection and surprisingly?  Both of their ears looked fine.  So I don't know WHAT'S up with all this night waking and screaming business.

So I am trying to find some positives in this day:

This handsome devil is eating baby food like a champ now.  Whew!

Toddler Jeggings.  Seriously adorable.  And for having a rotten cold, she's in a great mood during the daytime at least.

I kind of love this color:  Sally Hansen Gilty Party.  Scooped that up at Tarjay the other day.

When life gets sucky?  Just run around the kitchen with a cup of goldfish.
I'm off to play with Morgan, finish some laundry, and not look at the bags under my eyes.  Toodles!

Refocus

Gearing up for the start of another 12-day stretch on our own.  We had a lovely little weekend.  It was NEARLY 70 DEGREES on Saturday!  And then 25 degrees this morning.  Womp womp.  Thank you January, you fickle beast.

Joey and I did a little shopping on Friday.  Actually, I just returned some items and picked up a suit that the Hubs had altered.  Exciting stuff.  It cracks me up how much he loves looking in the mirror.

This little girl let me put her hair in a ponytail on Saturday before we all headed outside to supervise Daddy washing his car.  The man's obsessed, what can I say?
We stuffed this little guys hooves in his Toms.  SO CUTE!
It really was THAT warm out!

Little Miss Driving Daisy and her graham cracker
 Joey loved being outside too
It felt SO GREAT to get outside for some fresh warm air!  Needless to say, this little gal was NOT happy to have to go back inside.
I don't wanna go inside Mama!
Sunday was warm and rainy.  We needed some things at Target so I took Mo with me.  We shared a cookie while we waited for the rain to let up a bit.  Then we made a run for it to the car!
This little guy is all over the place in his walker.  He keeps getting pinned in the corner, haha!  Of course he had a surprise in his diaper waiting for me once I rescued him.

Saturday night we got to go out for an early dinner with Nana and the kiddos - Dewey's Pizza - my favorite!!  I was down 4 pounds this past week!!  But lost focus this weekend (hellooo pizza and pancakes!)

MUST. GET. BACK. ON. TRACK.

I'm still quite sore from my last Pilates workout on Saturday.  But I plan to get my rear in gear today and work out on the elliptical for at least 45 minutes.
