Trendy Tot Tuesday

When I saw Amy at MrsMommy doing this linkup today, I knew I had to join in.  First, because now I need MoJo to have those matching Easter jams that she posted (seriously cute!).  Second, because I don't seem to have a lot to blog about lately.  And third, because I LOVE LOVE LOVE shopping for the kids and seeing what other little people are wearing!

I am in love with dressing Morgan -- now so more than ever.  (I don't know what my deal was her first year...I just recently have gotten more into it??)

My most recent purchases came from Old Navy.  Now I think Old Navy's prices on kids clothes can be a little high sometimes - which I find odd since their adult clothes are usually so cheap!  So I only buy if I have a coupon code or there is a great sale going on.

This little assortment should be arriving on my doorstep sometime this week!  Of course, now that Valentine's Day is behind us, it's time to start thinking of St. Patrick's Day.  I always had fun wearing something green and getting into the spirit...so now my kiddos get to share in my "fun" (minus the green beer for them, haha)!

I want these for myself!

I know this isn't St. Patrick's Day-related, but c'mon...she had to have it!
And for my little man...

They had a bunch of summer basics for like $5, so I snapped up a bunch of tanks & shorts for Mo.  I am hesitant to buy Joey too much summer stuff just yet because I have no idea what size he'll be!  He's growing SO FAST, by the time he's 1 year old, I doubt he will fit into any 12-month sized stuff!

I'm in the throes of planning Morgan's 2nd Bday party, which is THIS COMING WEEKEND already.  It will be about the same size as last year, with 36 people invited (plus my fam in Minnesota who likely won't be able to make it here), but we are scaling back this year.  I'm trying to make it as stress-free as possible, but I still want it to be special, ya know?  Her actual birthday is this Thursday (I'm still in shock that my baby is turning 2!) so we will celebrate at home with a meal and cake cooked by Mama.

Diapo Diapo

This week, Morgan started telling me "Diapo.  Mommy check.  Look.  Poopy."  Sometimes there was a present in there waiting for me, sometimes there wasn't (I think she was trying but couldn't go).

Not. Ready. For. Potty. Training.

I'd ask her if she wanted to sit on her potty and she'd always say "Noo."  Maybe I can delay this a while longer?  I am in NO rush.  They say don't waste your time until the child is ready.  What if Mommy's not ready, lol?

VDay Week Tantrums

I didn't find time to post this week because my sweet toddler was kidnapped by aliens and replaced with a demon child.  The tantrums we got a sneak peek of before, from Little-Miss-About-To-Turn-2?  Were outta control this week!  She's talking more than ever, loving HARD (seriously, SO affectionate!) and expressing herself a lot these days.

I'd post a video I took, of her raging, thus scaring baby brother causing him to scream hysterically too, but I don't want to scare those of you expecting or who've just had Baby #2 ; )  You're welcome.

We managed to get out a few times this week and even hosted a play date at our house.  So fun!!  Wouldn't you know, my children were perfect angels for company, making any complaints I might've had sound fraudulent.

A small description, L-R
1.  We tried on a potential birthday party dress and put a ponytail in for fun.  So. Stinking. Cute.
2.  I made Morgan Eggs in a Basket, Valentine's Day style.  She only ate the toast.
3.  Joey's sitting up!  I know this is old news, but I love it.
4.  At our MOMS Club V-day party, Miss Moo dove in face first to a chocolate cherry cake ball.
5.  Baby Brother watching his sister FREAK OUT.  Again.  It was old hat by now.
6.  Lovin' on her Baby Doll.
7.  M&M Peanut butter bars for the VDay party.
8.  My kitchen helper.
9.  She's obsessed with being out on the back porch.  Hurry up spring!!!
10.  She loved watching the snow fall.  "Oh PITTY!" she said.
11.  We went to a Valentine's Lunch hosted by my sweet friend Hafzah.  Morgan's face?  Pretty much sums up her behavior that whole day.  I was sweaty, defeated, exhausted and ready to cry.  We hadn't even had our food yet and I was ready to pack the kids up and go back home.  My sweet friends convinced me to stay, each grabbed a baby so I could eat and chill out for a minute.
12.  Our playdate, Amelia & her Mommy Erin, came over and spent the morning with us on Valentine's Day. We snacked on blueberry muffins, fruit, and then lunch.  The Babies were so well behaved!
13.  A last-minute trip to Target to find Daddy some treats.  Morgan kissed this big froggy. He did not turn into a prince.
14.  Just when I'm ready to put them up for sale (OK, OK, not really) they go and do something like this holding hands cuteness while in their high chairs.  Gah!
15.  Birthday Festivities have begun a week early!  2 gifts came today...Whoah. Don't let Daddy see that crown...we have a "No Princess" rule here.  **Oops!**  I still don't have her party all planned out, but I"m not going to stress about it.  There's gonna be food (I hope).  Cake balls (for sure).  Some balloons.  We're good.
16.  My sparse VDay mantel.

Daddy's FINALLY off this weekend, looking forward to some time with him!!  He came home last night with a box of chocolates and a pint of ice cream last night.  He's a good, good man.

Expensive Babies, Delusions, & Sleeeeep

I don't know why I think to myself "Oh GOOD, it's Friday!" when the Husband is working all weekend again.  His call weekends got switched up a bit and he's been working more than his usual every 4th.  Somewhere, the world's smallest violin is playing a pity serenade for me, I know.  He just got called back in tonight for emergent dialysis, on not one, but two patients at 2 different hospitals.  This is why drug overdosing is bad.  I won't be seeing him anytime soon. *sigh*

It will be business as usual around here.  So here's the business we've been up to this week:

We got a little cleaning in.  This is a perfect "helper" activity for her right now.  I sent these pics to my cleaning ladies and said "Someone's gunning for your job!" haha!!

But then she decided she needed a break.  She took WAY longer than the union-contract mandated 15 minutes.  I thought about firing her, but she's too cute.
We tried our first Kindermusik class today and I'm not sure how Morgan liked it.  She's hard to read because for some of it, she was dancing and playing along, but for the rest she wanted me to hold her.  And then she kept saying "All Done" when she was over it.  It takes her a while to get comfortable so I think we'll keep trying.

I registered her for pre-school next fall.  It's more of a "Pre-"Pre-School.  But in this town?  You gotta get in early.  That scene is competitive.  The director told me there was someone there to sign up at 4:30AM!  (Signup didn't start til 8:30....I rolled in a 8:10 and had no problem for Morgan's age group).  I am fully aware studies have shown that pre-school programs do not give your child any academic advancement over kids who don't attend pre-school, but I think it's a good thing.  This particular one is held at a church, so I like that fact as well.  And if we like it, Joey will automatically be able to attend...none of this Black-Friday-like early lineup madness in the future.

Another plate of VDay treats we whipped up fast.  I have 2 more treats I plan to make before the actual day next week.  I was thrilled to find Valentines sprinkles at Kroger (after 3 failed attempts earlier in the week)  Morgan's having fun and the Husband is loving coming home to treats!

We made 3 purchases this week for little man:  A new high chair.  He's getting too wild for the Bumbo seat (making this Mama too nervous).  I have a booster seat for Morgan to eat at our dining table, but there's carpet under that area.  White carpet, no less.  So....it was either install hardwood floors OR buy a new high chair.  I saved us money!!!
These 2 were so cute together tonight interacting.  He was mad-doggin' her food. Sorry Bubba...soon, soon.
We finally broke down and bought a new car seat too...Joey is outgrowing the infant seat, so he will get Morgan's and she will move into the new one.  We ended up going with a Britax Combination Booster seat that will convert down the road, and still be able to be used up to 85 pounds. Does anyone else feel like their kids these days will be in car seats til they're 12?

And after lots of feedback, all praising the Ergo, I ordered an Ergo to be able to tote Joey around with us.  There was a good deal on a green one on Amazon - I didn't care what color it was, so I scooped it up.  I see the price went back up today already on it.  Babies are expensive!!  I've made my share of purchases that I regretted along the way (I'm looking at YOU previous High Chair, Baby Bjorn, and Baby Trend Jogger stroller!), but you live & learn I guess.  You can ask 100 people what products they love, but you'll get different answers and what works for them, might not work for you.  I guess by the time/IF we have another baby down the road, I'll have everything we could ever need and love it all, lol.

This little guy just continued to be cute, sit up on his own, have a wonky sleeping schedule, and master grabbing things like a boss:

And lastly, on to my delusions:   In preparation for our upcoming weekend getaway, I ordered these 2 bathing suits from Victoria's Secret.

Note to self:  Don't cry when they don't look like this on you.  And lay off the VDay treats.

This little trip cannot get here soon enough.  I'm counting the days until I get to SLEEEEP IN.  It's sad when the Hubs told me we will be in a cabin deep in the woods/mountains and that there were 2 bedrooms -- and I almost peed my pants with excitement.

Do you know what that means?

EVEN IF he snores (likely), I can move to the other bedroom.  Uninterrupted sleep...I can almost taste it.

Forget the swim suits, all I need is my comfiest PJs!
