Little Naughty and her sippy cup

For some reason, I have taken to calling Morgan "Little Naughty".  I think it started last week when she really started crawling....getting into things she's not supposed to, hiding from me.  I can seriously go to the bathroom (lightning-fast I might add!) and come back and she's nowhere to be found.  After a few seconds of searching and calling out her name, I usually find her somewhere forbidden (like the bathroom?  Eww!) with the biggest smile on her face.  Or on the dog bed with her face BURIED in all the nasty dog hair.  (Eww again!)

Why must children seek out the most disgusting/filthy/dangerous places in the house?

Today I chased her down the hallway of the foyer, and she was headed straight for the front door.  Not sure what she thought she was going to do once she got there.  Am I a bad person if I keep thinking "I should really attach some Swiffer wipes to her lil' belly & knees and then my floors would stay clean!"???? Ha ha!!

Anyway, I should probably stop calling her Little Naughty.  I don't want her to get a complex.  You know how they say if you tell a child he or she is "bad" their whole life, they grow up thinking "I'm bad"?  I don't want her to think it should become a self-fulfilling prophecy, lol!

On to the sippy cup:  I've experimented with a few different sippy cups all in an effort to get her to #1) Drink from it and #2) Hold the darn thing herself.  Maybe I'm too overbearing and always holding it for her, so she probably thinks "Why should I hold it?  Mom will do it!"

We've always been concerned about her hand/arm coordination and strength.  She still doesn't feed herself.  She'll pick up the bits of food or puffs, and play around with them between her fingers, but then lets them fall to the side.  Then overbearing mama  swoops in and comes to the rescue, shoving food in her mouth so she gets fed.  I just think, even for being born prematurely, this is something she SHOULD be doing by now?  We will continue to work on it...

Got a little sidetracked there, sorry (when don't I?)  So as for the cup, I think I've found a winner -- thanks to the fabulous Mrs. Mama over at  http://www.frommrstomama.com/.  The straw-sippy cup.  We worked on it yesterday and today and for the first time, she picked it up and just started sipping.  Like a big girl.  All by her naughty lil' self!  This mama was SO proud!

Of course by the time I whipped out my camera, all independence went into hiding, much like my little crawler herself.

This was the best I could get....still....SO PROUD!
